BE NICE COVID POLICY
The pandemic has thrown us all for a loop.
Lockdown. Quarantine. Wash yo' hands 8,000 times a day. No toilet paper. No meat. Electronic chip shortage. Social distancing. Mask. No Mask. Mask. Home schooling. Home prices soaring. Delta variant. Lambda variant. Delta plus variant. We all want to scream. Trust me. I get it. |
But...if you're the type of person who's going to have an unhinged and quite honestly embarrassing and at times frightening meltdown because ... you dropped your cake on the floor or left it in the trunk of your hot car and I can't fix it or wave fairy dust and make a new custom cake appear in seconds, weren't home to accept a delivery and then didn't leave a cooler outside as advised and ants got to your sweet treats before you, didn't read info on the website or in your follow up email, didn't read the provided cancellation policy and as a result swear at me worse than a sailor, throw food, slam doors, knock over tables, and then call me lazy and stupid - I am here to let you know before we go down that route - I'm not the baker for you.
And ya know what? That's totally OK.
No really. It is.
No hard feelings. We'll just go our separate ways.
Just please know that after the past few years - I and every small business owner or service industry worker are exhausted and defeated beyond words.
We have continually been treated like we're less than. And it's heart wrenching. It's harder than I have words to express. We pour our hearts and souls into our business. Hours that most folks would never invest. On top of that - we invest our life savings. We forgo vacations and weekends and family time to build and nurture our babies only for some folks to literally throw food at us and then weaponize Yelp and Google because they believe they're the ones who were wronged.
So while I am humbled and honored beyond words you found me, please to not mistake my kindness for weakness. I am not your personal punching bag. I will treat you with dignity and respect. I merely ask for the same in return.
